Fujitsu's High-End PRIMEPOWER Servers Break One Million Operations Per Second Barrier

Sunnyvale, CA, June 18, 2003 – Fujitsu Technology Solutions, Inc. today announced record-breaking results for its PRIMEPOWER 2500 UNIX system in the SPECjbb 2000 Java performance benchmark. Breaking the one million operations per second barrier for the first time, Fujitsu achieved performance of 1,420,177 operations per second with a 112-way PRIMEPOWER 2500 system using the company's 1.3GHz SPARC64 V processors, shattering records previously set by HP, Sun, and IBM in the same performance tests. In the 64-way server category, as well, PRIMEPOWER 2500 outpaced the competition with performance of 835,479 operations per second. These benchmark results were published on www.spec.org as of May 29, 2003.
