Hyland Wins Fujitsu's ISV Innovative Leadership Award

Deaconess Hospital Utilizing Solutions from Hyland and Fujitsu for Increased Patient Care

Orlando, FL, 2003, OnBase Training & Technology Conference, September 17, 2003 — Hyland Software, Inc., a leading electronic document management solutions provider and globally recognized player on the information technology landscape announced that Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., has awarded Hyland its ISV Innovative Leadership Award for its solution implemented at Deaconess Hospital.

'The award is designed to recognize independent software and hardware vendors' significant contributions to content management solutions that streamline business processes and positively impact their customers' bottom lines.

Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, is the largest hospital in the tri-state area. As Deaconess Hospital continued to grow and add emergency rooms, the need to quickly register patients and move them from the overcrowded waiting area to patient rooms was increased. The call for streamlining the patient registration process became apparent, and Deaconess looked to Fujitsu scanning hardware and Hyland Software's OnBase to help automate this process. In addition to streamlining patient registration, Deaconess had concerns for document security while handling an increased number of patient records. Further, the OnBase/Fujitsu solution has become part of the hospital's HIPAA compliance strategy.
