Environmental Protection Program

The "Environmental Protection Program" defines the specific objectives of the "Fujitsu Components Group Environmental Policy", important control mechanisms and short-term action plans which will be implemented by fiscal year 2012.

Green Procurement

  • More than 30% of newly developed Green Products shall be Super-Green Products which contribute to energy savings by the end of FY2012.
  • Establish a method to calculate the environmental efficiency factor and LCA. Achieve the environmental efficiency factor of 1.2 for the newly designed Green Products by the end of FY2012 and compare with the products developed in FY2008.

Environmental Measures for Products

  • Reduce CO2 emission created by energy consumption not exceeding 18,200t-CO2, 20% reduction from the FY2000 level (22,777t-CO2), by the end of FY2012.
  • All materials shall be procured from suppliers who have a target program to reduce CO2 emission by the end of FY2012.
  • Reduce hazardous chemicals specified by each business unit to not exceed 6,510kgs. Reduce amount of chemicals by 28% by the end of FY2012 based on the level of FY2007(9,038kgs).
  • Reduce amount of waste by 10% to not exceed 875t by the end of FY2012 based on the FY2007 level (973t).

Environmental and Social Contributions

  • Each business unit shall contribute to social activities in their local community at least once a year.

Promoting Biodiversity and Conservation

  • Each business unit shall provide education in biodiversity and conservation.
  • All materials shall be procured from suppliers who declare their effort for biodiversity and conservation by the end of FY2012.
