Overview

Fujitsu's GeoStream Access Gateway is a flexible, scalable and powerful solution for evolving telecommunications networks. Future networks will see a progressive need for higher bandwidth in access networks, to keep pace with customer demands for cost-effective, higher-bandwidth services, while new-generation services require QoS-capable networks to provide guaranteed quality and reliability. GeoStream Access Gateway delivers these capabilities extremely cost-efficiently.

GeoStream Access Gateway - Powerful Functionality

The modular, multi-service access platform is scalable from street cabinets to the largest exchanges. Operators can migrate the same functionality further out into the network, as bandwidth requirements grow and fibre is deployed deeper into the access network.

• GeoStream Access Gateway supports baseband PSTN voice access, via the Integrated Voice and Data ADSL line card (IV-LCSS), allowing operators to migrate existing baseband PSTN services onto a new broadband platform.
• Media gateway functionality is incorporated with standards-based external control interfaces, providing an ideal platform for PSTN evolution to the NGN. Combined packet and TDM capabilities enable service migration from legacy networks to the new core.
• Resilient architecture meets the demands of high service availability, providing power supply, card and fibre protection to achieve 99.999% availability.
• Offering comprehensive network management, GeoStream Access Gateway is configured, maintained and managed remotely by FENS AN, Fujitsu's access network management system.
