Fujitsu subsidiary PFU is the first vendor to offer Scan-to-iPhone and Scan-to-iPad software functions connecting paper-based documents directly to the mobile Apple world. With the new software enhancements, PFU will address the ever-growing number of iPhone and iPad users who require access to their data, including electronic images, on their mobile or tablet device. Documents can be easily transferred from their PC or Mac directly to their iPhone or iPad. All they need to do is click on the new ‘Scan-to-Mobile' button in the ScanSnap software's Quick Menu. But that's not all: They can now also scan contact data and documents into SalesForce CRM, SalesForce Chatter and SugarSync Personal Cloud applications – in a matter of seconds. The free software updates are available for the scanner models ScanSnap S1100, S1300, S1500 and S1500M, to new as well as to existing customers. The new functions demonstrate PFU's continued investment in the emerging cloud solution offerings that it started with the launch of the ultra-portable ScanSnap S1100 model in early 2011.
iPhone/iPad users simply download the free ScanSnap app from the iTunes AppStore and update their ScanSnap Manager and Organizer applications online, in order to ensure seamless communication between ScanSnap document scanners and Apple smartphones and smartpads. Sales representatives, lawyers, or architects, for example, can now enjoy the benefits of working with scanned documents by digitizing extensive files, contracts, or plans before they go out on the road. They don't need to lug heavy files and valuable original documents can stay in the office. Important information like schedules or meeting notes will always be at their fingertips. Furthermore, sales and marketing staff can save time thanks to the integration with CRM applications. For example, they can scan business cards and send contact information to SalesForce CRM with a click of the mouse. Or they can store sales documents in SalesForce Chatter or SugarSync and thus share them with co-workers or make them available for further processing.
"Seamless integration of our ScanSnap S1100, S1300, S1500, and S1500M document scanners into Evernote and Google Docs was just the start. The next logical step is for us to connect iPhones, iPads and leading cloud solutions to our ScanSnap scanners," explains Sofie Dheedene, ScanSnap Product Manager EMEA at PFU Imaging Solutions. "We are going to see even more cloud integration. After all, our partners want to integrate our ScanSnap scanners into their cloud-based services, and our customers are becoming more and more mobile." The software update is available for downloading for both new and existing customers of the ScanSnap S1100, S1300, and S1500/S1500M models at http://scansnap.fujitsu.com/g-support/en/.
