Fujitsu unveils new family of ultra-modern, versatile All-in-One and Modular Retail PoS Terminals

Next-generation Fujitsu TP8K PoS Terminals offer first-rate Serviceability and Functionality, Helping retailers maximise return on investment

London, May 09, 2017

Fujitsu today announced the European launch of the Fujitsu TP8K family of retail Point of Service (PoS) terminals based on Intel® 7th Generation Core processor technology. Designed to be seamlessly integrated into a wide range of retail environments, including fashion, pharmaceutical, convenience, departments stores and supermarkets, the TP8K family offers unique modularity, which enables retailers to mix and match configurations and flexibly adapt the in-store technology environment to reflect changing business needs.

“Fujitsu has a heritage which spans more than 40 years of engineering trusted, ultra-reliable PoS systems and other technology solutions for retailers around the world,” said Rupal Karia, Managing Director of Retail and Hospitality, UK & Ireland at Fujitsu. “The TP8K family of PoS terminals represents the next step in this mission as we continue to innovate and empower our customers to meet their business goals and enhance the retail shopping experience through advanced technological products and services.”

To reduce deployment and support costs, a common PC motherboard is used in both the All-in-One unit (AIO) and Modular systems. This allows a single software image to be deployed for use with any configuration all around the store. This flexibility enables retailers to simply re-purpose terminals to meet changing business needs.

The Fujitsu TP8K terminal enables sales associates to do much more than transactions. With TP8K AIO 15” and 18.5” LCD options, modular AIO design and dual independent customer-facing display, sales associates can handle numerous customer-focused applications, such as sales assist, registration, promotions and loyalty programmes. A third independent screen can also be supported for display of in-store promotional media. Complementing the PoS controllers are a full portfolio of robust PoS peripherals, including the new Fujitsu FP-2000 family of high-speed receipt printers, cash drawers and keyboards.

The stylish Fujitsu TP8K terminals are engineered to be highly serviceable by in-house IT staff, helping retailers maximise uptime and minimise costs. Installation, repair and updates of the TP8K terminal have been streamlined and simplified thanks to a modular design, tool-free access, remote-management capability with Intel® vPro™ technology and common components across AIO units and Modular variants.

Pricing and availability

The Fujitsu TP8K family of PoS terminals will be available in Europe during Q3/17. Pricing varies according to model, configuration and country.
