Waving GOODBYE to the paper invoice

How “la Caixa” is leading the way in electronic invoicing

Effective invoicing allows organisations to retain a firm grip on cash flow, taxation and business relationships. But unless businesses are able to send and receive invoices electronically, it can also become an expensive, time-consuming and inconvenient burden. Paper invoicing leaves the door wide open for human error, and businesses often find they are unable to access particular invoices when they are under pressure to do so.

Added to these business pressures is the ever increasing requirement to reduce any negative impact on the environment. Electronic invoices will help businesses to be ‘greener’ by reducing their reliance on paper resources - cutting costs in the process.

Aberdeen Group’s 2006 Invoice Reconciliation and Payment Benchmark Report concluded that paper remains ‘stubbornly entrenched in the billing processes’ with 86% of international billing still received in paper format.
