If the first decade of the 21st century was marked by the universal adoption of the mobile phone, the second will see the mass take-up of an even more powerful technology – the always-on, service-rich mobile internet.
And just as only some companies successfully made the leap from bricks-and-mortar commerce to e-commerce, the ubiquitous mobile web will offer a set of tantalising commercial opportunities as well as daunting challenges, with those that take advantage of the transition destined for dominant positions in mobile application service markets.
