Besides helping to halt climate change, the effective use of green IT can boost your bottom line, enhance the brand – and ensure compliance with emerging legislation.

These days, the need for greener IT is rarely challenged. Despite this, the current economic climate has diverted business attention from directly pursuing a green agenda while the main focus has switched to cutting costs.

However, Fujitsu believes green IT should be seen as a business opportunity rather than a burden. When it comes to winning boardroom hearts and minds, the business case for introducing environmentally friendly technology and business practices has to be based on more than a simple belief that it’s the right thing to do. Any winning argument has to prove that green technology and saving money go hand in hand, and a business case that couples greener IT with a good ROI will always help this.

Green IT is not a burden – it’s an opportunity. Applied properly, it can be an effective way to:

  • reduce energy consumption and costs
  • reduce the carbon footprint of your other business operations
  • aid regulatory compliance carbon reduction and reporting will soon be mandatory for the biggest organisations
