for the next data centre revolution

Consolidation and virtualisation were just the frst steps on the journey to the optimised data centre. Private cloud services will drive effciency and agility even higher

A new wind of change is about to sweep through data centre services – a wind that will dramatically reshape the costs of these powerhouses of enterprise and introduce unprecedented levels of business agility.

While in recent years server virtualisation and platform consolidation have been critical in delivering major gains in data centre effciency, those might be viewed as just the overture to a much wider movement.

The next step in data centre optimisation will be to extend the infrastructure to private cloud services. Organisations will need to create a hybrid architecture that blends the best of cloud and on-premise services and identify existing assets that are suitable for migration. However, the savings - of up to 40% - will make that a compelling journey.
