Reducing the incidence of incidents

Patient safety incidents are costing NHS Trusts in England an estimated £2billion per annum in extra bed days. Estimates suggest that around half of these incidents could have been prevented.

Fujitsu, in working with one Trust, identified a potential for 160 document types (based on the format of the old style paper record) which could form the electronic patient record.
