- Case study, Head Office Modern Environment. New IT infrastructure
Fujitsu won the contract for Project Head Office Modern Environment (HOME) providing the project management, integration, implementation and ongoing service management of a new IT infrastructure and 6,000 work stations.

The British led International Military Advisory and Training Team (IMATT) has approximately 100 international staff based in Sierra Leone where they provide the government with security and military advice and training, playing an important role in supporting the country's climb from the chaos of civil war.

The Royal Navy sends approximately 10,000 messages a day but until 1986, a manual system was used to encode, process and decode much of its messaging, from ship to shore and between stations around the world. Fujitsu created a high grade messaging service, developing software to meet the Navy's ultra-strict security requirements but using commercial off-the-shelf hardware.

In February 2004 Fujitsu, which had previously designed and developed a Military Message Handling System for the Ministry of Defence in the UK, was chosen to deploy the Military Message Handling System for the New Zealand Defence Force.

The Replicated Air Support Decision Aid (RASDA) replaced the old databases with Oracle technology with a forms interface in a Windows environment.

The requirement was for PCs, servers, printers and network equipment from commercial sources that would work in the unique environment aboard ship, be reliable, and meet the standards required for equipment installations on their vessels.
