A clear starting point

We operate a stringent programme of environmental auditing and we have programmes in place to limit our major environmental impacts, including energy usage, waste to landfill and emissions to air. Visit our Action section for full details.

We also have several major initiatives in place to audit and improve areas of our operation that we have deemed a priority.

The Carbon Trust

We are currently working with the Carbon Trust to produce a carbon management programme to reduce our carbon emissions. The first stage of this is an assessment of our complete carbon footprint across our operations in EMEA.

This should be complete by mid 2008 and, when finished, will lead to a 2-3 year programme of action. Details of the plan will be available here when it is completed.

Suppliers

Finally, in order to extend the impact of our work, we are looking at how to improve performance across our supply chain. In this, its first year, we are asking our top 80% of suppliers to complete an ethical self-assessment. This includes a section on the environment and their carbon footprint.
