What is it like to be a Corporate Communications Manager?
I’m currently responsible for all elements of our Corporate Communications. Recently, this has included the launch of FSTV which is our own communications channel for Reception areas across the UK. Another key element of this role is the production of our Annual Review and Report & Accounts documents which detail the progress of the business over the past year. This is a real challenge due to the stakeholders involved and the challenging deadlines. It’s great working with the creative agency though, especially when we see the finished result.
What do you most enjoy about your current role?
Variety. Everyday is different in terms of the people that I work with and the challenges of the role.
What makes you proud to work for Fujitsu Services?
The success of the company! The turnaround that the company has undergone in the past 5 years has been dramatic. The global organisations that we are now working with are testimony to this success and it feels like exciting times are ahead of us. Its great that the company shares its success with its people as well.
What other roles have you had within Fujitsu Services and how do they differ from your current role?
I joined Fujitsu Services’ Graduate scheme which provided me with opportunities to work in Business Planning, Sales and Marketing roles. Since then, I have worked solely in the Marketing department with roles including Telecoms & Utilities Marketing, campaign management as well as Corporate Communications.
What advice would you give to people looking to develop a career in your capability/business unit?
Take advantage of the freedom that this company gives you in terms of managing your own career. No one will manage it for you, so decide what you want to do and where you want to go – and then go for it!
