What you currently do?
My current job title is HR Programme Manager reporting into the HR Director. I produce large scale project plans in order to produce an overall HR Programme for Fujitsu Services. I have regular meetings with the HR Leadership Team (HRLT) to discuss their respective project plans and act a conduit of this high level information for the HR community. In addition to this aspect of my role, I work on specific projects that aren’t necessarily in the remit of any of the other members of the HRLT. In addition to this, I look at how we can develop the HR Team in order to achieve our goal of “One HR!”
How the role is important to Fujitsu Services HR?
My role is to develop a complete HR Programme by having regular contact with the HRLT. This enables knowledge sharing and best practice to be applied at the strategic level, which in turn can be used operationally throughout the business. The role also enables me to be a good focal point for any questions relating to the HR agenda.
On top of this, my role enables any ad-hoc HR projects to be implemented quickly as I provide an extra resource for Roger and the HRLT.
What do you most enjoy about your current role?
The opportunity to shape the way we approach HR for this organisation and developing the understanding that business trends really impact the way that we develop our people strategy
What makes you proud to work for Fujitsu Services?
The people, sounds pretty clichéd, but the organisation has some fantastic people that I have learnt so much from.
What advice would you give to people looking to develop a career in your capability/business unit?
Build your networks and learn from these people. We are a very complicated organisation which means that our HR organisation is so complex, therefore so much to learn
