Environmental corporate responsibility

Our environmental strategy derives from the set of core environmental principles defined by the Fujitsu Group:
- We are committed to conserving energy and natural resources, and practice a 3R approach (reduce, reuse and recycle) to create best-of-breed eco-friendly products.
- We seek to reduce risks to human health and the environment from the use of harmful chemical substances or waste.
- Through our IT products and solutions, we help customers reduce the environmental impact of their activities and improve environmental efficiency.
- We strive to reduce the impact of our products through the product lifecycle.
- We disclose environment-related information on our business activities, products and services, and we utilise the resulting feedback to critique ourselves to further improve our environmental programmes.
- We encourage our employees to work to improve the environment, bearing in mind the impact of their business activities and their civic responsibilities.
In Fujitsu Services, our environmental strategy is divided into several key areas:
Green management
Environmental concerns impact all of us, as individuals, as an organisation and collectively as global citizens. We believe
all our people should share a strong commitment to environmental protection, and that the company should continually strive
to fulfil its environmental objectives. This ethos is embedded within our management principles and we are working hard to
gain ISO14001 accreditation (for our environmental management system) across all of our sites.
We are a full member of Business in the Community (BITC) and participate in several programmes and collaborative networks. We’re also an active member of the BITC May Day Network, consisting of 1,000 business leaders committed to action on climate change.
Green teams
Our Green Teams programme captures our employees’ environmental enthusiasm and helps ensure we are working together towards
our corporate environmental goals. Fujitsu Services people are encouraged to join their local Green Team, which provides an
opportunity for them to help establish practical solutions and, if necessary, tailor their approach for specific locations.
Green buildings
Today, power consumption is a critical issue in the IT industry. Building modern green data centres reduces ongoing costs
and carbon emissions, while implementing energy reduction programmes across all our office locations is yielding impressive
results.
