Fujitsu's All-Integrated Multimedia Range Of LifeBook C Series Now Available In Varied Configurations

Singapore, 21 May 2001 — Fujitsu's stalwart multimedia powerhouse is now available in a wider range than ever before. The Fujitsu LifeBook C series today come in varied configurations to suit every lifestyle need in the IT Age. This is a concerted move by Fujitsu to introduce the benefits of the portable multimedia lifestyle to suit different needs. Fujitsu is today offering users a choice of processors ranging from the Pentium® III 750 MHz processor to the top-speed Pentium® III 1GHz processor. Top-end machines, the LifeBook C-6632 features Super XGA+ display, while an XGA screen is supported on both the LifeBook C-6592 and C-6571.

The Fujitsu LifeBook C series emphasize the mobile computing mantra of today: multimedia on-the-go for both work and play. Specially designed to provide comprehensive multimedia capability, all machines in the LifeBook C series feature an IEEE 1394 FireWire port that supports near lossless data transfers of up to 400 Mbps, an SPDIF port and an S-video Out port. Users can download music to an MD player using the SPDIF port, or use the notebook as a VCD-player by connecting the S-video Out port to their television sets.

The new range of LifeBook C series are now more geared towards connectivity than ever. For a start, LifeBook C series now feature both integrated LAN and modem, spelling convenience and empowerment to travellers who need to communicate with head office or sales outlets. And for computing sans wires, the LifeBook C-6632 is also Bluetooth™ integrated. Bluetooth allows two devices to "talk" to each other wirelessly, thus eliminating the need for cables. Finally, users need no longer be tethered to their desks or their printer connections! Fujitsu has also produced a Bluetooth modem station that enables wireless access to the Internet.

Users of the new LifeBook C-6632 and C-6592 are also treated to an intelligent assistant within the machine. CoolView, an intelligent LCD panel innovated by Fujitsu, gently reminds users of new emails or even indicates the arrival of a much-anticipated note from a special someone. The backlit screen is programmable in seven vibrant colours. The CoolView panel also offers a large viewing area for a clear display of status such as incoming mails, date, time battery level, CD-track and volume. The Quick Touch Panel now comes with four programmable buttons which allow users to create and /or rename applications according to their preference.

To further increase the LifeBook C series' ease of use, Fujitsu has thoughtfully included a CoolScroll button that allows users to easily browse Web pages, documents or long spreadsheets.

Fujitsu has included their latest 3-in-1 DVD-ROM / CD-R/RW / CD-ROM drive, offering users the ultimate flexibility in reading and copying to various media.
