Fujitsu Offers World's Smallest, Quietest, Most Energy-Efficient Server

Sunnyvale, CA, October 10, 2007 — (MARKET WIRE) - Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation today announced the PRIMERGY(R) TX120, the world's smallest, quietest, most energy-efficient tower server. Designed for small businesses and SOHOs (small offices/home offices) without a dedicated server room, the PRIMERGY TX120 offers the full functionality of the award-winning Fujitsu PRIMERGY line, but takes up less space, produces less heat and noise, and consumes less energy.

While dedicated servers have become a standard fixture in even the smallest businesses -- including medical practices, law firms, insurance and investment brokers, freelancers, small retailers, and branch offices of larger companies -- few of these have the space to dedicate a room to IT infrastructure. As a result, large, noisy servers often operate within a few feet of staff. The PRIMERGY TX120, about one-third the size of a standard server, is so quiet it won't disturb workers sitting nearby. Consuming a maximum of 163 watts, the PRIMERGY TX120 consumes about the same amount of energy as a standard office light bulb.

Smaller size: The PRIMERGY TX120 measures just 4 inches wide by 13 inches high by 16 inches deep.

Lower noise levels: The PRIMERGY TX120 produces 28 decibels (dB) while idling and 31 dB in operation, approximately 50 percent lower than standard tower servers.

Less energy consumption: Running in its maximum configuration, the PRIMERGY TX120 consumes between 35 and 40 percent less energy than standard tower servers, saving approximately $100 per server per year (1). At full load, equipped with the Dual-Core Intel(R) Xeon(R) UP processor, maximum power consumption is a mere 163 watts.

The PRIMERGY TX120 server ships with PRIMERGY Server View Remote Management, enabling flexible, secure and economical management of the server from any location at any time. This lets small offices rely on consultants for server management while branch offices and small workgroups can leave server control in the hands of IT staff at headquarters.

"The PRIMERGY TX120 server represents a significant step forward in accommodating the real-world IT needs of small offices, an important and growing market for Fujitsu," said Richard McCormack, senior vice president of marketing and servers for Fujitsu Computer Systems. "The PRIMERGY TX120 server is also the result of our ongoing corporate wide effort to reduce the carbon footprint of all our products."
