Fujitsu Siemens Computers Offers Blade Chassis Subscription for Linux Simplified Linux Licensing Enhances Flexibility in the Dynamic Data Center


Munich, June 01, 2006 — Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT provider, today announced a new pricing model for its Linux-based enterprise servers designed to cut complexity in the Dynamic Data Center. The PRIMERGY BX 600 and PRIMERGY BladeFrame can now be purchased with a single Linux enterprise subscription option per chassis. Instead of licensing the operating system per blade server, customers can deploy any number of instances of the operating system, once they licensed the chassis. The single subscription model provides the customer with better cost control, cost reduction and simplifies the procuring and licensing process of Linux for blade server environments. The offer covers Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Servers edition and is available through EMEA with immediate effect.
