Network

Services Provided


Fujitsu System Design and Migration services define the Customer's standard computing infrastructure and develops a plan for migration from the existing computing environment to that infrastructure. This include :

Network Design

Fujitsu will work with the Customer to produce a best of breed network infrastructure. This includes review of the Customer's existing network environment including the current annualized network infrastructure cost. Fujitsu will discuss with the Customer the business requirements, in order to establish and agree the Customer's technical requirements. Fujitsu will then define the new network hardware configuration, software application portfolio, PC LAN services configuration, network layout, implementation cost plus the necessary customization to meet the specific requirements.

Fujitsu will document the requirements and detailed specification of the new network infrastructure for Customer's approval.

Network Deployment

Fujitsu will work with the Customer to develop plans and procedures for implementing or making changes to the services and policies and supporting network infrastructure which are necessary to support the agreed network infrastructure, and also to develop plans and procedures for the transition from the existing infrastructure.

Fujitsu will build the agreed network infrastructure and check with the Customer. Hardware and software configurations will be tested as agreed between the Customer and Fujitsu prior to the acceptance with the Customer that the equipment has been installed in accordance with the specified requirements.

Network Operation Management

This include:

1. Problem Investigation

This provides for rapid isolation of problems within the network. For hardware & software problems the subsequent invocation of maintenance services & provision of evidence.

Problem investigation is initiated by a telephone call to the designated Fujitsu service point.

Fujitsu will investigate all reported network problems and identify the cause, utilizing skills, appropriate tools and techniques. Fujitsu will identify avoidance actions to the Customer to minimize the impacts of any failure pending corrective actions by the relevant product service provider(s). If the problem is of a transient nature, or is associated with a Customer operational action, Fujitsu will provide remedial advice. If the problem is associated with a product fault in hardware or software Fujitsu will transfer the call to the relevant service provider with whom the Customer has on-site support service contract.

2. Telephone Advice and Guidance

This provides access to expert advice & guidance on the use, exploitation and enhancement of the network.

Telephone advice and guidance is initiated by a telephone call to the designated Fujitsu service point. Advice and guidance is provided on operation and use of the defined network, network exploitation and enhancement and advice on identifying known solutions for network incidents.

For calls which cannot be resolved within 30 minutes a recommendation of training and/or additional services may be made.

3. Network Configuration Management

This provides total management of both physical and logical network configuration. Physical network configuration may include floor layout, cabling layout, and related information agreed with the Customer. Logical network configuration may include MAC/IP address, ATM logical pass, ISDN address, entire network diagram, etc.

4. Carrier Link Management

This service provides technical problem management for the network connections within or connected to the defined network, as provided by a 3rd party telecommunications provider.

This is initiated by a telephone call to the designated Fujitsu service point. Fujitsu will investigate the network problem and report the problem to the carrier, providing appropriate evidence.
