Migration

Services Provided

The standard IT infrastructure covers PC desktop hardware and software, server hardware and software and network environment.


Fujitsu System Design and Migration services define the Customer's standard computing infrastructure and develops a plan for migration from the existing computing environment to that infrastructure. This include :

Requirements and Specification of the Standard IT Infrastructure

Fujitsu will work with the Customer to produce a detailed specification of the standard computing infrastructure. This includes review of the Customer's existing computing environment, network infrastructure and host architecture including the current annualized cost per PC. Fujitsu will discuss with the Customer the operating company's business requirements, in order to establish and agree the customer's technical requirements. Fujitsu will then define the standard hardware configuration, software application portfolio, PC LAN services configuration plus the necessary customization to meet the specific requirements.

Fujitsu will document the requirements and detailed specification of the standard computing infrastructure for Customer's approval.

Technical Testing of the Standard IT Infrastructure

Fujitsu will test the correct working of the agreed standard computing environment, including the customization specified, within the existing network infrastructure, host and email architecture and business specific applications.

Fujitsu will document all the necessary technical information and procedures concerning the set-up, configuration and customization of the agreed standard IT environment for subsequent implementation. The procedures will detail all the implementation actions, on a step by step basis.

Support Services

Fujitsu will work with the customer to identify the management changes to the support services and the supporting infrastructure which is necessary to support the standard infrastructure. This include reviewing the existing support services and supporting infrastructure and identifying the support service requirements for the agreed computing infrastructure. Fujitsu will then identify the services necessary to meet those requirements and the support policies which will make use of the identified support services and infrastructure. Fujitsu will also agree with the customer the required service levels for each services and identify the necessary resources and skills required to support the agreed standard IT infrastructure.

In addition, Fujitsu will make recommendations on improvements in the management and support of the standard IT infrastructure to reduce the overall operational costs.

Migration Planning

Fujitsu will work with the Customer to develop plans and procedures for implementing or making changes to the services and policies and supporting infrastructure which are necessary to support the agreed standard computing infrastructure, and also to develop plans and procedures for the transition from the existing infrastructure.

Fujitsu will develop a migration schedule on workgroup basis and prioritize the migration based on business needs and develop procedures for the migration of workgroups. Fujitsu will also estimate the resources and skills requirements for migrating a typical workgroup and the total time and effort to complete the migration. Finally, Fujitsu will estimate the annualized cost per PC along with the total cost of migration.
