TeamPad Tucked in Your Pocket
For applications where there is less manipulation of data, Fujitsu's scaled down version of the TeamPad weighing just 350
g is an ideal choice. An ideal compact unit designed to fit the shirt pocket, it packs in an integrated barcode reader and
a large, easy-to-use touch screen. Because of the rigors of mobile use, Fujitsu has designed the TeamPad to be tough enough
for robust usage, including water splashes.
The most significant aspects of these machines are they are wireless communicators as well. Data can be directly uploaded into the central database at anytime and from anywhere. This ensures that mobile users can access data residing within the main company's database.
The TeamPad 7100, for instance, supports a built-in RF modem so that information can be constantly updated locally and remotely through a wide area network. It supports wireless communications for wide area networks so that information keeps flowing throughout the organisation. Alternatively, communication and exchange of data and database updates with corporate databases can also be established through LANs or serial communication.
