Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd
Singapore, 12 May 2005 — Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific today launched three newly refreshed LifeBook S series notebook computers. All three are ultra portable, high performance machines, incorporating multimedia features, SuperFine or AntiGlare LCD screens, large hard disk drives, high performance DDR2 533MHz memory, improved graphics performance and fingerprint recognition technology. In addition, corporate and consumer users can expect longer battery life and greater processing power with the next-generation Intel® CentrinoT platform and Intel® PRO/Wireless 2915ABG network connection.
Mr YS Ng, Vice President, Marketing said “These newly refreshed LifeBook S series notebooks have been carefully engineered to meet the demanding standards of our corporate and consumer users. We’ve listened and delivered increased performance, resulting in the most powerful and portable notebooks ever.”
The increasing popularity of digital entertainment and high quality graphics for business is catered for by the inclusion of the Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900 with DVMT 3.0. This delivers low-power, high performance 2D/3D graphics, video and display capabilities at a maximum shared memory of 128MB, allowing users to enjoy smooth rendering of graphics and enhanced digital realism.
The LifeBook S6240 weighs less than 1.7kg* with built-in modular bay drive and 13.3” display. A media playback panel allows for convenient media functionality. The LifeBook S7000 series notebooks weigh less than 1.8kg* with built-in modular bay drive and 14” display. The optional Dual Layer DVD Super Multi Writer provides a perfect way to backup important data on a dual layer DVD media of up to 8.5GB.
Fujitsu understands that aesthetics is an important factor when choosing a notebook. Their new range features two colour options for the discerning professional. The “North Black” is designed for lifestyle trendsetters who appreciate fashionable ultra-portability in their notebooks; while its signature silver is designed for the busy corporate mobile professionals. The “North Black” models boast a SuperFine LCD screen providing superior clarity for rich multimedia playback and movie viewing while the signature silver is equipped with an AntiGlare screen, perfect for working on-the-go.
All three LifeBook S series notebooks are equipped with fingerprint recognition technology with capacitive sensors for accurate fingerprint recognition. Confidential files and folders can now be encrypted with your fingerprint to prevent unauthorised data access. An additional bonus, the fingerprint sensor can be programmed as a scroll button with vertical scroll functions!
With so many useful peripherals available today, mobile professionals need their computers to be truly flexible. The notebooks feature an impressive array of connectivity options including three conveniently placed USB 2.0 ports, an IEEE 1394 port, a mini S-Video port, High Definition (HD) audio in and out jacks, modem access and network connections. A combination of Secure Digital (SD), Memory Stick® PRO slot in the S7021 allows data to be easily transferred to and from other devices such as PDAs and digital cameras.
All three notebooks are also equipped with PCI Express x1 Gigabit LAN support, allowing faster networking than before and improving overall network communication performance. In addition, the LifeBook S7000 series has a Type II PCMCIA slot along with ExpressCard™ capability, offering higher bandwidth than traditional PCMCIA cards.
