Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd
Singapore, 27 May 2004 — Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific today launched the LifeBook E8010. This high performance corporate notebook incorporates the second generation Intel® Centrino™ Mobile Technology, which gives users longer battery life and greater processing power.
Intel's Pentium® M Processor 735 provides fast access to applications and the DVD Super Multi Drive allows users to read or write all common DVD formats on the go.
Raymond Foo, Associate Director of Marketing, Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific, said the LifeBook E8010 is a powerful corporate workhorse. "The E8010 is a hardworking, no-nonsense notebook. Features such as the programmable application launch buttons on the keyboard and the inclusion of both a touchpad and Quick Point, make the LifeBook E8010 an easy to use, yet robust notebook - a perfect choice for the corporate environment."
The increasing use of graphics in the daily business environment prompted Fujitsu to include ATI's MOBILITY™ RADEON™ 9700, which delivers high performance 3D graphics. "As modern business becomes increasingly complex, so have the needs of corporate notebook users. By adding discrete graphics capabilities to the LifeBook E8010, we're responding to the needs of our corporate customers who want a top performance notebook," said Raymond.
The LifeBook E8010 has a 15-inch screen that provides superior clarity for rich multimedia playback and movie viewing. Weighing approximately three kilograms, the slimline E8010 can be used for up to five hours with a standard battery pack and has up to 80 gigabytes of hard disk space for data storage.
Professionals using notebooks in the corporate environment need a range of connection options. The LifeBook E8010 features four USB ports, modem access, and network connections, as well as a Secure Digital and MultiMediaCard slot that allows data to be transferred to other devices. Users can also connect to networks or other devices without the need for cumbersome wires, using Bluetooth™ or 802.11b/g wireless technology. An optional port replicator also allows users to easily dock or undock from a workstation without the need to unplug peripherals, such as printers, scanners and external drives.
According to Raymond, the LifeBook E8010's enhanced security features are also a key feature for corporate buyers. "The E8010 comes with advanced security lock systems, including BIOS, hard disk, LifeBook and anti-theft locks. In addition, the optional Trusted Platform Module (TPM) allows for customisation of security needs such as file or email encryption using Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technology. This level of security assurance is vital for mobile professionals."
