Fujitsu’s New Console Drawer Supports Multiple Input Device Interfaces

Singapore, November 8, 2005 — Fujitsu Components Asia, Limited today announced it has released a new 1U console drawer that supports input device interfaces for PS/2, USB, Sun I/O and Sun USB. This multiple interface capability simplifies cable management and reduces equipment costs by ensuring that a single console is compatible with various PC/server input devices.

Fujitsu’s SERVIS™ FD-1100MT series console drawer consists of a 17-inch, 1280x1024 high-resolution SXGA TFT color LCD monitor that supports both separate synch and composite sync video signals. A membrane switch keyboard and a 3-button touch pad are also integrated into the console.

In its extended and open position, the console drawer measures 486(W) x 1215(D) x 370(H) mm. When closed and retracted into a cabinet, the unit measures 486(W) x 685(D) x 43(H) mm. Slide rails are available separately in three configurations to allow for installation flexibility.

For increased functionality, the drawer features a space that may be fitted with an optional, user-installed, 4-port KVM switch, or a Fujitsu 8- or 16-port KVM switch may be factory-installed. These devices provide on-screen display function and Hot Key Mode where the user may assign PC names and select them using the cursor key.

Available immediately, the SERVIS™ FD-1100MT series console drawer (part number NC14010-T452/US) has a suggested resale price of $2,125.00, which includes 2.0m PS/2 and USB cables (SUN I/O cable is sold separately). Discounts are available for OEM quantity purchases.
