Power Relay Combines High-Performance and Small Footprint

Singapore, 16 December 2002 — Fujitsu Components Asia, Limited today released a high-performance relay that is pin-compatible with its predecessor, the NY, yet offers a 31% height reduction and 8% less power consumption. Applications include programmable logic controllers, I/O modules, and inverter control.
The new FTR-MY series features compact packaging that measures 5mm wide x 12mm high and occupies 100mm2 of printed circuit board area to meet high-density mounting requirements. It weighs 2.5grams.
Fujitsu also improved the FTR-MY’s dielectric between coil and contacts to 3,000VAC and surge strength voltage to 5,080V. Coils feature 110mW sensitivity and 54mW operating power.
The FTR-MY relay has bifurcated gold overlaid silver alloy contacts, a contact rating of 250VAC/30VDC at 5A, and a 5A maximum switching current. Its mechanical life is rated at 20 million operations.
The relay comes in a 1 Form A and is available for 4.5 to 24 VDC operation with a maximum switching voltage of 277VAC, 125VDC. It meets UL, CSA and IEC61131 safety standards.
Available immediately, the FTR-MY relay is priced at $1.70 each in quantities of ten thousand.
