Fujitsu Develops CMOS Logic-Based High-Voltage Transistor for Power Amplifiers

Singapore, December 29, 2008 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL) today announced that Fujitsu Laboratories Limited and Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited have co-developed a CMOS logic(1) process-based high-voltage transistor featuring high breakdown voltage, suitable for power amplifiers used in wireless devices.

Fujitsu Launches SD Multi-Decoder LSI Supporting MPEG-2 & H.264

Singapore, December 1, 2008 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL) today announced the launch of multi-decoder LSI chips that support decoding of MPEG-2 and H.264 video compression formats for Standard Definition (SD) video, in particular for SD digital broadcasts in Russia, eastern Europe and China. Sample shipments of the new MB86H01 series will start from December 1, 2008.

Fujitsu Launches New Ultra-Low Power Full HD H.264 CODEC LSIs

Singapore, November 3, 2008 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL) today announced two new LSIs to expand its line-up of H.264 CODEC LSIs, that encode and decode Full HD (1,920 dots x 1,080 lines) video in the H.264 format. The first of the two products to be launched, the ultra-low power MB86H55, features power consumption of only 500mW during Full HD encoding including the in-package memory, an industry-leading level for low power consumption. Sample shipments of the MB86H55 will start in January 2009. In addition, the upcoming LSI, MB86H56, will offer processing of Full HD video at 60 frames per second (progressive), 60p, to improve picture quality even further. Samples shipments of the MB86H56 will start from April 2009.

Fujitsu Launches Digital HDTV SoC for Superior Picture Quality Digital HDTV

Singapore, September 11, 2008 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL) today announced the development of a digital HDTV system-on-chip (SoC) that integrates a video processing engine for superior picture quality, and a full high-definition (full HD, 1920 dots x 1080 lines) multi-decoder that decodes both MPEG-2 and H.264 video compression formats. The new chip, the MB86H70, is aimed for digital TVs receiving high-definition broadcasts that are ramping up in Europe.

Fujitsu Adds Low Pin Count Series to Line of High-Performance 8-bit Microcontrollers for Consumer Appliances

Singapore, September 9, 2008 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL) announced today the addition of three series featuring low pin count (LPC), with 20 pins or less, to its F2MC-8FX family(*1) of high-performance 8-bit microcontrollers with embedded flash memory. Sample shipments of the new microcontrollers known as the MB95200H series, MB95210H series, and MB95220H series, will be phased in starting on September 9, 2008. The three series have been added to the existing product line in response to the rapid rise in demand for LPC microcontrollers for use in home appliances and other consumer electronics in the Asian market.

Fujitsu Global Mobile Platform Inc. Commences Operations

Fujitsu Microelectronics Launches AUTOSAR 2.1 - Compatible Driver for Automotive Onboard Microcontrollers

Singapore, July 21, 2008 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL) today announced the development and launch of a new microcontroller driver for its MB91460 Series of high-performance 32-bit automotive microcontrollers, jointly developed with Elektrobit Corporation of Finland and compatible with Release 2.1 of AUTOSAR, the open software architecture for automobiles from the AUTOSAR automotive software standards consortium. The new microcontroller driver will be available from Fujitsu Microelectronics and Elektrobit from July 18, 2008. When used with Fujitsu Microelectronics’ microcontrollers, this new driver will offer customers a greater degree of code reusability for automotive onboard applications already developed, and greater efficiency when developing automotive software.

Fujitsu Microelectronics Launches Mobile WiMAX Chipsets for Mobile Devices

Singapore, June 23, 2008 – Singapore, June 23, 2008 - Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL) today announced a new mobile WiMAX chipset optimized for mobile WiMAX devices such as smart phones and PDAs. Sample shipment will start in August 2008. The chipset includes a baseband LSI, MB86K22; an RF LSI, MB86K52; and a power management LSI, MB39C316. These three devices are essential to produce a competitive WiMAX module. The chipset was designed to fit in the 12x12mm WiMAX module. The standby current - which has a direct impact on battery life - will not exceed 0.5mA, facilitating the development of more competitive mobile WiMAX terminals.

Fujitsu and Jurong Technologies collaborate to develop new range of WiMAX products

Singapore, June 3, 2008 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL) and Jurong Technologies industrial Corporation (Jurong Technologies) are pleased to announce that Jurong Technologies, through its subsidiary I-Sirius Pte Ltd, has selected Fujitsu as its WiMAX baseband SoC partner. I-Sirius will use Fujitsu’s Mobile WiMAX baseband SoC, which is fully compliant with IEEE802.16e-2005 standard, to develop WiMAX products such as embedded modules, USB dongles and Express cards.

Fujitsu Launches Industry's First Embedded FRAM-LSI that Counteracts Electromagnetic Interference

Tokyo, May 22, 2008 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited (FML) today announced the launch of the MB88R157, an addition to its existing product line of spread-spectrum clock generators (SSCG), which provide countermeasures against electromagnetic interference (EMI) on high-frequency clock signals. The new LSI also includes embedded FRAM, an industry first, which features fast rewriting speed and can vary its frequency output over a range of 1 MHz to 134 MHz while mounted on a circuit board. In addition, Fujitsu Microelectronic’s circuit design technology reduces the product power consumption in continuous operation by up to 40% in comparison to similar products from other companies. As it is easy to rewrite parameters in this new LSI, it is appropriate for a wide range of applications including multi-functional printers, PCs, and mobile phones, as well as for televisions, DVD players, and game consoles.

Fujitsu Launches Full HD Multi-Decoder LSI Supporting Both MPEG-2 and H.264

Singapore, March 4, 2008 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL) today introduced a new full high-definition (HD) multi-standard video decoder LSI for Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) HD broadcasts, that decodes both MPEG-2 and H.264 compression formats in full HD resolution (1920 dots x 1080 lines).
