With the advent of the digital revolution, businesses are identifying opportunities to better harness technologies and drive Digital Workplace Transformation. By delivering software on-demand, Fujitsu V-DaaS offers businesses desktop virtualization as a service that is easily scalable and consumption-based. It enables businesses to streamline operations and manage workload; reduce capital expenditure in procurement, maintenance and desktop upgrading; and optimize IT productivity and enhance workforce mobility while empowering faster innovation and driving revenues.
With Fujitsu V-DaaS, virtual desktops are licensed on a subscription basis and centrally hosted. User data, operating systems and applications are no longer stored on the individual client devices. Instead, these are centrally stored, managed and executed on servers equipped with high-performance CPUs, located at Fujitsu data centers. Patches, virus scanning, version upgrades and other services are consolidated on the servers, with only printable screen images transferred to the virtual desktops. Backed by Fujitsu’s multi-layered security data centers, this central security system protects data against information leakage.
“With the continued growth of mobile technologies, the modern workforce expects the flexibility to work from wherever they are and on the device of their choice without compromising on the enterprise-class network performance they experience at the workplace. On the other hand, businesses require solutions with enhanced security measures to protect data while keeping costs in check,” said Wong Heng Chew, Country President, Fujitsu Singapore. “Fujitsu V-DaaS bridges the expectations of the workforce with the needs of the business by empowering the workforce while reducing the complexity of workplace management with a flexible, low cost and secure desktop computing environment.”
“We congratulate Fujitsu on the launch of V-DaaS in Singapore, and we are pleased to continue our collaboration with them as valued member of the vCloud Air Network,” said Geoff Waters, Vice President, Service Provider Channel, VMware. “With V-DaaS, based on Horizon DaaS, organizations are empowered to realize a cost-effective and secure mobility solution to embrace digital transformation and reduce the overhead of managing traditional desktop infrastructures.”
The launch of V-DaaS in Singapore was announced at the Fujitsu Asia Conference 2016 held at the Raffles City Convention Centre.
