Fujitsu Limited and Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. have reached an agreement to create a joint venture Eudyna Devices Inc. that will consolidate the operations of Fujitsu Quantum Devices Limited; a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujitsu, with the electronic devices business of Sumitomo Electric's compound semiconductor operations.

Eudyna Devices Inc. will be engaged in everything from development and manufacturing to sales of a wide variety of compound semiconductor devices, will aim to quickly establish the trust of customers worldwide as the world's leader in the field by offering a level of technological and developmental expertise unmatched by any company in the industry.

Fujitsu Quantum Devices Singapore Pte Ltd (FQDS) was established on April 1, 1999 as a subsidiary of Fujitsu Quantum Devices Japan (FQD) which is part of the Fujitsu Limited group of companies. Fujitsu Quantum Devices took over the facilities of Fujitsu Microelectronic Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL), then a major producer of DRAM devices.

In line with Fujitsu Quantum Devices Singapore's commitment to expand its presence into the Asian region, Fujitsu Quantum Devices Singapore-HK was set up in Hong Kong, to look into the sales, distribution and support of Fujitsu Quantum Devices Singapore compound semiconductor products for the Asia Customers.

Fujitsu Quantum Devices Singapore offers Fujitsu products that include microwave and millimeter wave RF devices for cellular, handset, broadcast and satellite communications. In addition to RF devices, Fujitsu Quantum Devices Singapore also offers optoelectronics devices such as Photo Detectors, Photo Diodes and lasers. It is also the supplier of High Speed GaAs ICs for the supercomputer and telecom industries worldwide.

In addition to Fujitsu Quantum Devices Singapore, Fujitsu Quantum Devices also has other affiliates to represent its optoelectronics, microwave GaAs IC products worldwide. Fujitsu Quantum Devices Europe Limited (FQDE), located in London functions as the sales and service centre for Europe, Africa and the Middle East except Africa.

Fujitsu Compound Semiconductor Inc. (FCSI), located in San Jose, California is the design, sales and service arm for the North, Central and South America, India, Israel, Australia and New Zealand.
