Fujitsu and your personal data

As one of the leading providers of information products and technologies Fujitsu is committed to the use of state-of-the-art technologies in order to continuously improve the services offered to our customers and to protect the personal information of our customers, partners, suppliers, visitors of our web sites and employees as effectively as possible.

The term "personal information" comprises all information which allows or facilitates the identification of an individual. Fujitsu represents and warrants strictly complying with any data protection laws and any other applicable laws.

You may access the public websites of Fujitsu, which are available in the Internet, without entering any of your personal details. In a few cases, however, we or our partners will need certain information from you in order to give you appropriate and comprehensive service. In such cases we would ask you to register with us.

Fujitsu and the assigned purpose / use of your data for a specific purpose

In general, we will use the personal data that you voluntarily provide (e.g. during registration with one of our websites, when calling a hotline, any otherwise given approval, or use of your data for a specific purpose that is approved by the corresponding legislation) to answer your queries, provide offers or information for you, process your orders with Fujitsu or to meet delivery commitments and perform service activities. Within the context of the existing customer relationship it is also possible for your

  • personal data to be collected, saved, processed and forwarded to our worldwide group companies, subsidiaries and affiliates as part of the previously mentioned activities,
  • personal data to be forwarded by third parties (subcontractors of Fujitsu) as part of the service delivery (service or delivery),
  • personal data, which you transferred to us, to be used by us or by third parties on our behalf as part of the above mentioned activities (especially marketing and public opinion surveys).
  • In any case we will accept your personal declaration of intent if you do not wish to provide us with your personal data for the purposes of maintaining the customer relationship (especially for public opinion surveys).

Fujitsu will neither sell your personal data to any third party nor use this information otherwise, except with group companies, subsidiaries, affiliates and partners within the context of service delivery.

Any personal data collected, saved or provided by Fujitsu will be exclusively used for the purposes made known to you beforehand. Exceptions to this are when collection, storage and processing are:

  • to protect legal claims
  • to protect against lawsuits
  • to prepare, negotiate and perform business transactions
  • to process public authority or court orders or otherwise due to legislation
  • or if the purpose is directly connected with an assigned purpose previously made known to you.

Fujitsu saves your personal data for such time

  • as may be required to meet delivery commitments and provide services within the contractual framework
  • as may be required to observe statutory archiving periods
  • as may be required to become active within a product liability context
  • as may be required to settle disputes and to enforce any agreements that have been reached
  • as your account with Fujitsu is active and you have not marked it for deletion or its use by Fujitsu has been revoked by y

Fujitsu and the security / quality of information

It is our intention to protect the quality and integrity of your personal data. For this we have made appropriate technical and organizational arrangements. For example, providing the option to encrypt e-mails or personal data submitted to our websites. Fujitsu will make every commercially appropriate effort to carry out any corrections you want made to your data as quickly as possible. Your support, e.g. in making sure that requests for correction are made known, is invaluable.

Fujitsu and technologies used (cookies, web beacons)

We collect information about visitors of our Internet sites in order to further improve our service and our online offers. In this way, customer needs can be better met by Fujitsu. This is done in a completely anonymous way and any identification of individuals is made impossible.

We use so-called cookies to collect this anonymous information. Cookies are data elements, which are stored by your browser. Cookies help us to offer you specially tailored offers. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However please note that if you do this you may possibly not be able to use the full functionality of this website. Fujitsu cannot accept any liability for this.

Google Analytics (a web analysis service of Google Inc. ("Google"), an independent company for Internet audience measurement and analysis, uses cookies and programs, which are embedded in a site, to gather non-personal data on our behalf, regarding the visitors to our sites. Both the cookies and the embedded programs provide only non-personal statistical information about visits to the websites, the duration of individual site view, paths taken by visitors through the sites, data on visitors' screen settings and other general information. Fujitsu uses this type of particularly statistical information to help improve the services to our customers.

The information generated on behalf of Google by the cookie(s) about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and Internet usage.

Google may also transfer this anonymized information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However please note that if you do this you may possibly not be able to use the full functionality of this website. Fujitsu cannot assume any liability for this.

Fujitsu and the use and acquisition of information in connection with social media environments

Fujitsu uses social media environments such as Xing, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Google+ in order to use and acquire information. The wikis and blogs run by Fujitsu itself are subject to the privacy and security regulations of Fujitsu.

These plugins of other platforms can be recognized by means of a logo or the appropriate wording of the respective platform. If you use one of these plugins to select one of our sites, they are able to establish a direct connection between the browser you used and the appropriate sites of the respective social media network.

As this transfer takes place directly between your browser and the respective network, we at Fujitsu do not have any access or knowledge of the sent data. It is usual here for the fact that you have selected the appropriate site and were interested in a product or information from Fujitsu to be transferred.

If you have simultaneously logged in to one of these platforms or log in to the respective social media network sometime later, the plugins are able to automatically associate this information with your account. Thus, this information will be and is allocated to an individual. Of course, the same applies if you use plugins (e.g. the "I like") or make comments.

If you click to activate e.g. a button to express approval such as the "Like button on Facebook®)" or make comments, it is possible for the various data below to generally be transferred - depending on the operator of the social media network e.g:

- IP address
- Browser information and operating system
- Screen resolution
- Installed browser plugins, such as Adobe Flash Player
- Visitor origin, if you followed a link (referrer)
- URL of the current site

Fujitsu does not have any control over the use of this data in the respective social computing environments.
If you personally are in one of the above mentioned social media networks and make content available to participants of these networks or on these platforms, content such as images, information, contact details, your personal opinion or any other types of personal information, this is then not covered by this statement of Fujitsu. The terms of use and privacy policies of the respective operators apply for any such content.

Please familiarize yourself with your personal rights and obligations as well as those of the respective social computing platforms.

You should be aware that any content you publish in the social computing environments is made publicly accessible within Fujitsu or also outside Fujitsu.

During information acquisition (data mining and profiling) Fujitsu will regularly analyze the social computing environment for information for marketing purposes on the basis of existing contacts for data enhancement and possible new contacts for data acquisition. This is done on an automated basis. In this way, Fujitsu can acquire personal data / information from publicly accessible sources, for which approval already exists from the past or for which no direct approval on your part has been given to collect, store and process the data.

Fujitsu takes the subject of privacy and personal rights seriously and will in such cases inform you of the origin and collected data category prior to actually using any such data / information and obtain your approval for collection, storage and processing. You can withdraw the approval you have given to Fujitsu at any time without any given reason.

Fujitsu and data protection technologies

New technical developments are enabling users to have more control over their personal data. Fujitsu is making every effort to provide you with suitable options whenever the nature of the data we are holding makes it necessary.

Fujitsu and security

Fujitsu has taken technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data against accidental, unlawful modification, deletion or loss as well as against unauthorized access or disclosure.

Fujitsu and its partners and suppliers

Fujitsu makes Internet platforms available to its partners and suppliers. These websites can only be used after prior registration. The personal data and information that Fujitsu acquires in conjunction with registration are collected, stored and processed by Fujitsu in order to maintain and generally develop the business relationship.  The exchange of information with partners and suppliers is always on the basis of concluded contracts and non-disclosure agreements between Fujitsu, the partners and suppliers.

Fujitsu and child security

The Fujitsu websites contain little if any information that is aimed directly at children. No personal information should be submitted to us by children without the consent of their parents or guardian. Therefore we encourage all parents or guardians to instruct their children in the safe and responsible use of the Internet/World Wide Web (WWW).We believe it is our responsibility to abide by the relevant laws and regulations in this respect. Any breaches that come to light will be investigated and prosecuted.

Fujitsu and export control

Fujitsu is a globally active company and engages in international trade, supplying its products to Sweden, the EU and outside the EU. Within the framework of general business transactions we are obliged to carry out export controls with regard to products/country, consignees and end use.

These are based on the export control regulations of Sweden, the European Union, the United States of America and in part also on the regulations of the Japanese export authorities. For the purpose of this privacy regulation we only consider the verification of personal consignees (companies, organizations and persons) against relevant, generally accessible sanction lists of Sweden, the European Union, the United States of America and Japan.

In the course of this verification Fujitsu regularly compares delivery and personal data (address and personal data) with the data of these sanction lists. Fujitsu is not responsible for the content of these sanction lists.
Depending on the result of these controls Fujitsu is obliged to take appropriate measures within the context of export control regulations, which are stipulated by Sweden, the European Union, the United States of America and Japan.

Fujitsu and the rights of licensing and trademarks as well as copyrights

Fujitsu is mindful of its own rights of licensing and trademarks as well as copyrights, registered trademarks, patents and property as well as those of its customer, suppliers, partners or, where applicable, also unknown third parties.

Fujitsu reserves the right to also use personal data in order to represent and assert the above mentioned rights if their violation or merely grounds to assume such a violation exist, which would in turn mean that these rights or property of Fujitsu or its customers, suppliers, partners or, where applicable, also unknown third parties are actually violated.

Fujitsu also reserves the right to disclose personal data in such a case, inasmuch as this is required within the context of an official request for information, the opening of and compliance with court proceedings and sentencing or legal action according to the explanatory notes on the Fujitsu websites.
