Fujitsu och Symantec meddelar att de utökar ut sitt globala strategiska samarbete för att bättre kunna möta kundernas behov inom områden som dataskydd, lagringshantering och informationssäkerhet. På sikt finns även målsättningen att ytterligare utöka samarbetet att omfatta gemensam produktutveckling.
Konkret paketerar företagen lösningar bestående av Fujitsus lagringssystem ETERNUS och servrar inom produktserien PRIMERGY med Symantecs administrationsmjukvara för lagring och datahantering samt säkerhetslösningar för att skydda såväl servrar som lagringssystem. Detta inkluderar bland annat NetBackup, Backup Exec, Back Exec System Recovery och Storage Foundation samt Symantecs säkerhetsslösning Symantec Endpoint Protection.
Fujitsu och Symantec paketerar huvudsakligen lösningar som riktar sig till medelstora och stora företag med målsättningen att de bättre ska kunna hantera krav på informations- och riskhantering samt att de ska kunna effektivisera sina datahallar och möjliggöra en högre utnyttjandegrad av befintliga IT-investeringar.

Fujitsu and Symantec to Expand Global Strategic Partnership - Delivering integrated solutions to better serve customers -
Tokyo, Japan (February 2, 2010) - Fujitsu (TSE: 6702) and Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced that they intend to expand their global strategic partnership and better serve their customers in the areas of data protection, storage management, and information security.
Under this arrangement, Fujitsu plans to combine its high-performance and highly reliable ETERNUS storage systems and PRIMERGY servers with Symantec’s industry- leading data management and storage management software products including NetBackup, Backup Exec, Backup Exec System Recovery and Storage Foundation, and its global de facto security solution, Symantec Endpoint Protection. Fujitsu and Symantec will jointly identify and provide solutions integrating both companies’ product s and services to help customers streamline datacenter management and fully utiliz e their existing IT investments. Both companies aim to help a wide range of custom ers - from medium-sized companies to large enterprises - reduce their costs, and bette r meet their diverse information and risk management needs.
While building on each company’s strengths and increasing synergies between the two, Fujitsu and Symantec aim to further expand their businesses worldwide with the possibility of joint product development targeting the global market.

Fujitsu is currently extending its infrastructure business in global markets, de veloping unified global brands, product lines and services for server and storage infrast ructures.
