The PRIMERGY BX900 – the Dynamic Cube – is a complete Dynamic Server infrastructure in a single chassis. This blade server can be dynamically adapted to different IT requirements, thereby reducing costs while increasing your IT agility.
The decisive factors are its high density, (up to 18 server blades in a 10U chassis), and its dynamic energy and cooling efficiency in combination with extreme virtualization capabilities. It enables flexible scalability to ensure complete investment protection.

W-CM32127The PRIMERGY BX924 S2 provides two Intel® Xeon® processors (5000 Sequence), each with up to 6 cores and 12 MB cache. Realization of consolidation requirements is granted to a great extent by hardware based virtualization support of chipset, CPU and Ethernet controller (Intel® 82599) as well as by the up to 18 DIMM modules in the system.
Various options to boot the system via iSCSI / Ethernet, SAN with Fibre Channel or even locally with SSD or USB Flash Module offer free choice.

PRIMERGY SX910 S1 - right sidePRIMERGY SX910 S1 Storage Blades Tape can be used to archive and backup local data in the PRIMERGY BX900 S1 system units. Up to 1,500 GB may be stored on one LTO tape drive therein, matching the demands of a server blade’s disk capacities and leaving room for future, higher capacities. The Storage Blade requires one Blade slot within the PRIMERGY BX system unit.

PRIMERGY SX940 S1 - front 1The PRIMERGY SX940 S1 Direct Attached Storage Blade Disk can be used to extend the internal storage capacity of PRIMERGY BX92x Server Blades. A maximum of four internal disk drives greatly extends the maximum amount of disk storage of a Server Blade. One Storage Blade occupies one blade slot within the PRIMERGY BX system units; it is positioned either on the left or right to an adjacent BX92x Server Blade, or between the two. The 1x 4 or 2x 2 disk drives of one SX940 S1 are driven by 1 or 2 integrated, highly functional SAS/RAID controllers with 512 Mbyte cache and BBU. Each controller provides RAID levels 0, 1, 5 and 6.
PRIMERGY SX960 S1
PRIMERGY SX960 - side rightThe PRIMERGY SX960 storage blade delivers direct attached and shared storage for the PRIMERGY BX blade servers, with support for up to 10 hot-plug small form factor SAS hard disk drives or SATA hard disk or solid state drives. The midplane of the BX blade servers provides a PCI Express connection to the adjacent server blade and enables high performance storage access without any additional cables.
For our PRIMERGY BX blade servers we can now also offer a fully integrated virtual storage appliance. This virtual storage solution consists of a storage control blade with an installed hypervisor plus the Data ONTAP-vTM software from NetApp and a SX960 storage blade to provide the shared storage capacity. It will be promoted under the brand PRIMERGY VSX960. VSX storage solution supports iSCSI, CIFS and NFS protocol and is based on Data ONTAP-vTM features such as SnapShot, FlexVol, SnapRestore and FilerView.

This storage blade is connected via midplane to a SAS connection blade (CB), holding up to 10 hot-plug SAS hard disks, accessible by any PRIMERGY BX server blade installed in the same enclosure. Each single storage drive or compound RAID array of an SX980 S1 can be assigned to a dedicated server blade.
