The development of the JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) Supercomputer System received the "Special Award" in the "Fourth Monodzukuri Nippon Grand Award." The high-end technical computing server FX1 constitutes the core of JAXA Supercomputer System with 3,392 nodes. It reaches a total theoretical peak performance of 135 teraflops.
In April 2009 this system achieved Japan's highest performance of 110.6 teraflops with world's highest computing efficiency of 91.19%.
