Fujitsu Services
Fujitsu's managed services to cover IT infrastructure of the city of Espoo
Helsinki, 2nd April 2008 — Fujitsu Services Oy assumes the overall responsibility for the IT infrastructure services of the city of Espoo, the second largest city in Finland. The renewed agreement covers the IT infrastructure services for all the desktops of Espoo city employees, thus incorporating all in all some 10,000 workstations.
The agreement is worth approximately 18,5 million euros and spans over a period of four years. The sum comprises also the costs of a year-long deployment project.
Fujitsu's services will reach all of Espoo's around 500 offices and more than 14,000 employees of the city. Fujitsu's maintenance service will also cover application, infrastructure and local area network services.
”We aim at a reliable and secure ICT infrastructure that can be consistently and continuously developed throughout the agreement period to meet our evolving needs. In measuring quality we will be looking into entire service chains from the user's point of view," says IT director Marke Kaukonen of Espoo.
”The city of Espoo has been one of our most important government sector customers for several years now. The renewed agreement marks a considerable extension to the services, which is a clear indication that our Patja service has high standards and serves the customer's needs," says Fujitsu's CEO Yrjänä Ahto.
