Portugal NCC chose the Opas activity system by Fujitsu

September 23, 2009

Construction and property development company NCC acquires the Opas activity system from Fujitsu Services Oy. Opas (Operational Activity System) is a solution for corporates looking for improved operational quality, customer satisfaction and business performance. The system uniquely combines processes, activity system and group working into a coherent set from the user's point of view. The Opas system has 850 users at NCC.

"The platform of our previous activity system was also built by Fujitsu, so the basic concepts and the collaboration model were already in place. The new system is even more usable and more flexibly integrable to other systems. It is also easier to use, which is important particularly in the site," says Frej Weurlander, Head of PMO at NCC.

"The new solution ties the activity system even more closely into our operation. All the templates and procedures required in the construction process are available there in the right order," he says.

Opas implements the common way of working and facilitates the project team's work. Plans, images, drawings and documents are available to everyone in the system instead of each user having them in their personal computers or e-mails. Thanks to the system the lifecycle of the construction projects is manageable from quotation and planning all the way to warranty work.

The browser-based Opas runs on Microsoft SharePoint platform.
