Portugal INCI Declaration Made Easy

TDS supports cosmetic companies with industry-specific software

May 13, 2009

TDS has brought the first SAP add-on to market which can be used by cosmetic manufacturers to identify ingredients according to the International Nomenclature for Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI): the SAP add-on "INCI Declaration". This industry-specific solution helps cosmetic manufacturers meet legal requirements, avoid the high susceptibility to error inherent in manually created lists of contents and save time and money with the declaration of ingredients.

INCI is a regulation governing correct identification of the composition of cosmetics. Using the "INCI Declaration" add-on, companies can manage recipes, material master data and parts lists based on INCI easily and reliably. Manufacturers can then release and sort information about the constituents of cosmetics correctly according to INCI rules. The software also provides help in creating text for packaging and labels.

Easy Integration
The program also provides cosmetic manufacturers with the basis for meeting another industry requirement, REACH regulations. These regulate registering and tracking of chemical substances. Another advantage is that the add-on can easily be integrated into existing SAP solutions, for example the preconfigured industry solution myTDS.Cosmetics. TDS also offers other add-ons for the process industry – for example to organise bottling or print labels.
