THE POSSIBILITIES ARE INFINITE

Multimedia

As we evolve into an information technology - oriented society, the technological advancement has found its way through our automobiles. Information sharing has become an integral part not only in our offices and homes but also in our automobiles.

Cars are regarded as the second home for most people, thus it is only proper to create an environment where people can enjoy the comfort and convenience of their own homes while behind the wheels.

We at the multimedia section strive to make a pleasant and comfortable driving a reality for people and their vehicles. We develop software that is geared towards bringing information and entertainment together.

The multimedia section of FTSP consists of six groups:

  1. Simulation
  2. Infotainment
  3. Display Development
  4. Research and Development
  5. Communication System Development
  6. Communication System Terminal Equipment

The Simulation Group develops software tools that aid the development team in Fujitsu Ten Japan in simulating the operation of the car Audio Visual Navigation (AVN) units and the environment inside the vehicle. Simulation team also evaluates AVN quality thru development of checklists and simulates vehicle voltages to detect possible errors within the software of AVN unit before they are released to the market.

The Infotainment Group develops Man-Machine Interface (MMI) software for automobile accessories with information and entertainment features. The MMI software is developed using A2RU, an interface builder tool.

The Infotainment Group and Display Development Group develop Man-Machine Interface (MMI) for audio-visual products. The Infotainment MMI development is for information and entertainment car products using A2RU, an interface builder tool. While, the Display Group develop MMI for full-featured car audio and video entertainment products with AM/FM receiver, CD/MP3/DVD Player and Digital Sound Processor (DSP).

The Research and Development (R&D) group is tasked to explore and acquire the latest technology in software development car audio system used in Fujitsu Ten Limited Japan. They provide comprehensive skills and tools on a specific area needed by other groups.

The Communication System Development Group develops software that caters to the needs of the Global Positioning System - Automatic Vehicle Monitoring (GPS-AVM) System. The group had developed report acquisition tools that enable the user to gather, manipulate, preview and print data generated by the system's database. In addition, tools that enable the setting of system configurations were developed. The Group also develops gateway applications, which enable communication between two processes and/or machines using different sets of protocols.

The Communication System Terminal Equipment Group supports the GPS-AVM development of the on-board terminal systems. The group designs the drivers for serial communication of terminal equipments that is equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver. Other development projects involve different tools used in simulation and evaluation of the said terminal equipment.
