- Fujitsu and Taiwan's Institute for Information Industry to Establish Joint Venture for WiMAX Application Platforms
Tokyo, December 4, 2007 – Fujitsu Limited and the Institute for Information Industry (III) of Taiwan, a non-governmental organization jointly sponsored by the Taiwan government and prominent private enterprises, today announced their agreement to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MOU), to establish a new company in Taiwan that will develop application platforms and provide engineering support based on WiMAX technology from Fujitsu and III. Through the joint venture, scheduled to be established in March 2008, it is anticipated that Fujitsu and III will significantly contribute to the development of the WiMAX industry in Taiwan.

(FMA) is now shipping its 5.8GHz WiMAX baseband system-on-chip (SoC) to ODM partners and customers worldwide, including solutions provider Texas Instruments, WiMAX systems provider ORZA Networks and WiMAX customer premises maker Sun Create Electronics Co., Ltd.

- Fujitsu Expands 32-bit Microcontroller Line Up for High-Performance Home Appliances
Singapore, March 29, 2007 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL) today announced the availability of the latest addition to its FR family (*1) of 32-bit microcontrollers, the MB91480 series. The new series is designed for high-performance control functions of home appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines and dryers. MB91480 series provide inverter control (*2) of two motors with one-chip that enables higher functionality in a smaller space.
