Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd
Singapore, 10 March 2004 — The new Fujitsu LifeBook S7010 offers mobile executives the high-end functionality of the award-winning S series in one of the smallest form factors among the 14" LCD notebook market. Using the latest 2nd generation mobile micro-architecture processors from Intel, Fujitsu S7010 offers the highest performance of the thin and light S series models.
Weighing 1.75kg1 with a standard six-cell battery, the LifeBook S7010 has a slim magnesium cover and carbon fibre ABS chassis. It also incorporates a lightweight 14" LCD screen that looks stylish without compromising on quality or reliability.
Taking advantage of Intel® Centrino™ Mobile Technology with 802.11b/g WLAN, the LifeBook S7010 offers fast remote wireless access for busy professionals who need anywhere, anytime connectivity with colleagues and customers. The LifeBook has integrated the latest Bluetooth specification v1.2 that allows faster and better connection performance with other Bluetooth devices.
Raymond Foo, Associate Director, Marketing, Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific said, "Our corporate customers tell us they are looking for a full-feature performance notebook with the portability of smaller machines. Intel's new generation of mobile processors is a good fit for this form factor."
"Our design team has led the notebook market with models that offer maximum functionality in a slim and ultra-portable form factor. The LifeBook S7010 is an excellent example with a lightweight LCD screen and casing," Mr Foo said.
"Corporate executives also expect advanced security features in their notebook to protect their valuable data and hardware investment."
The LifeBook S7010 offers the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) option for corporate executives who have stringent security requirements. Data encryption and transaction security can be customised using TPM via PKI technology, for example, file and email encryption.
In addition, the LifeBook S7010 offers the standard LifeBook security features such as BIOS, Hard Disk and LifeBook lock, Anti-theft lock slot and Smart Card support2 for enhanced data and hardware protection.
The LifeBook S7010 includes a DVD Super Multi drive that allows busy mobile executives to relax and enjoy their favourite movies while travelling. The DVD Super Multi drive supports playback and recording of common DVD media formats in the region and doubles as a reliable, high-capacity data backup solution.
"Modern executives spend a lot of time in hotels and require simple but effective connectivity to a wide range of devices. The LifeBook S7010 offers three USB 2.0 ports, two PC card slots and Bluetooth capability for connectivity with printers, USB storage drives, and extra accessories," Mr Foo said.
"It also offers a port replicator to allow ease of docking and undocking from the LifeBook without having to plug/unplug cables from peripherals every time you do so. We find it is often the little things that make a big difference in ensuring a positive LifeBook experience," Mr Foo concluded.
