Enriched Line-up of 8-bit High-Performance Microcontrollers

Singapore, 26 May, 2006 — Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL) today announced the launch of its new 8-bit microcontrollers, MB95F146 and MB95F156H for consumer electronics applications. These microcontrollers are developed to fulfill the increasing demand for high-speed low-power-consumption 8-bit microcontrollers in the domestic appliance control field of Asia market.

Fujitsu’s F2MC-8FX 1 family 8-bit microcontrollers, since introduced in March 2004, have been used in various digital AV products and white goods.

The new MB95F146, a 32-pin package, can be used to manage the power supply and remote control of digital AV equipment. On the other hand, MB95F156H, which is a 48-pin or 52-pin package, includes a LCD display controller and can be used for portable radio equipment, remote control of hot water units, and other purposes. These microcontrollers can perform count operation to up to one minute 2, to reduce the power consumption of white goods and digital AV equipment.

The common evaluation board and development tool for Fujitsu’s F2MC-8FX 1 8-bit microcontrollers are already available, thus all products in this family can be developed in a single evaluation environment.
