Fujitsu Launches New Range of Compact, A4 Image Scanners that Deliver Class-Leading Performance
Expanded with software features like the centralized administration function
to help boost your work efficiency
Singapore, January 27, 2012 — Fujitsu, a leading provider of ICT-based business solutions today announced the release of the fi-6130Z, fi-6140Z, fi-6230Z, fi-6240Z: the latest high-speed A4 scanners from the fi Series line of business grade scanners. The new models go on sale on January 16, 20121.
Fujitsu took everything that customers liked in the previous models (e.g., scanning performance and software functions) and improved on them. On top of that, the new models debut new features like a centralized administration function (called Scanner Central Admin) and a ScanSnap mode function. The former vastly improves efficiency in setting up and managing multiple fi Series scanner units over a network, and the latter gives fi users the same, easy "one touch" operation of the highly praised ScanSnap series.
Fujitsu is ready to support the document digitizing needs of its customers in the decentralized capture market, introducing new products with excellent cost-performance that improve work efficiency and productivity.
PRODUCT FEATURES
1. Ahead of its class in basic performance
The new fi models raise the bar in speed and feed performance among ADF type image scanners of their class.
- Class-leading features
The fi-6140Z and fi-6240Z deliver a scanning speed of 60ppm/120ipm (color, A4, 200 dpi), a 150% increase over the previous models. The fi-6130Z and fi-6230Z offer unparalleled cost-performance and scan documents at 40ppm/80ipm.
Each scanner model comes equipped with advanced fi Series features like intelligent multi-feed and paper protection to ensure fast and reliable scanning. The intelligent multi-feed function allows users to selectively exclude multi-feed detection for pages with attached materials (e.g., photo or memo). The paper protection function stops scanner operation when an irregularity is detected during a page feed.
- Versatile scanning from plastic ID size cards to A3 size documents
The new fi models come bundled with one carrier sheet (i.e., ScanSnap Carrier Sheet) for digitizing larger paper sizes up to A3. Scan up to three carrier sheets at a time or mixed with other documents. On the opposite end, the scanners also feature continuous scanning of plastic cards used for IDs4. For reliable scanning of a wide range of paper media, the Fujitsu's latest scanners are sure to satisfy the needs of most customers.
2. New functions to open more scanning possibilities
- Cut scanner installation and administration costs with Scanner Central Admin
The new fi models come armed with the centralized administration function - Scanner Central Admin, which makes it possible to monitor scanner running status, install/update scanner drivers/software and more over a network, all from one terminal5. This significantly reduces costs and labor when installing and managing large volumes of scanners at an organization and when expanding a scanner network to multiple remote locations.
- Use ScanSnap mode for simple scan tasks at the office
With the new ScanSnap mode function, fi customers can scan documents using features from Fujitsu's highly praised ScanSnap series line of personal/small office scanners. Accessed via bundled software ScandAll PRO V2, ScanSnap mode allows users to scan documents to various applications without the hassle of adjusting scanner settings. This function is ideal for documents used in everyday office applications6.
3. Bundled with the most up-to-date software
- ScandAll PRO V2 - Boost productivity with enhanced job separation
ScandAll PRO features a job separation function that can divide and save image data from multi-page loads into units defined by specialized separator codes printed on divider sheets. This function has been enhanced to recognize a wider range of 1D barcodes (linear barcodes), opening greater possibilities for saved output image files.
The fi-6140Z and fi-6240Z come with ScandAll PRO V2 Premium (fi-6130Z and fi-6230Z users can purchase the software as an option). Premium features more advanced job separation using 2D barcodes (matrix codes). The job separation function is sure to bring new levels of efficiency and productivity to all your work processes.
- Kofax VRS 5.0 Professional - Scan documents to highest quality images
The new fi models come with the latest version of Kofax VRS, the powerful scanner software from Kofax, Inc. U.S.A. The software works by automatically adjusting scan settings to best suit the qualities of a document in order to produce exceptionally clear image data which is optimized for technologies like OCR.
