- Fujitsu Launches the FR60Lite Series Microcontrollers
Tokyo, November 6, 2002 – Fujitsu Limited today announced the introduction of its new FR60Lite series of microcontrollers. Designed to consume less power, the new series is the latest addition to the FR family of 32-bit RISC microcontrollers. The first two FR60Lite products (the MB91F233 and MB91232L), both with embedded LCD controllers, are targeted for mobile devices and digital consumer electronics. The products are being marketed starting today

- Fujitsu and Amkor End Talks on Making Fujitsu Electronics a Joint Venture
Tokyo, October 18, 2002 – Fujitsu Limited and Amkor Technology, Inc. have ended discussions relating to making Kyushu Fujitsu Electronics Ltd., Fujitsu's wholly owned semiconductor assembly and test operation located in Kagoshima, Japan, a joint venture. Fujitsu and Amkor had signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding in April 2002 aiming for the joint venture to commence operations in the second quarter of this fiscal year, and they were in negotiations on a definitive agreement.

- Fujitsu Introduces Two New RISC Microcontrollers for Digital Home Electronics
Tokyo, September 19, 2002 – Fujitsu Limited today introduced two new 32-bit RISC microcontrollers that are designed to run digital home appliances, such as audio equipment, digital televisions and DVD players. Jointly developed with Fujitsu VLSI Limited, the two new additions to Fujitsu's MB91350 (MB91F353 and MB91F355) series, the operating frequency at speeds up to 50 MHz, bringing a new level of performance to microcontrollers. Both new models are being marketed starting today, with sample shipment beginning in October.

- AMD, Fujitsu and Saifun Announce Collaboration
Tokyo, July 31, 2002 – Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD), Fujitsu Limited and Saifun Semiconductors, Ltd. today announced a comprehensive collaboration under which the three companies have agreed to cross-license patents and technology, settle all pending litigation and collaborate in the development of future generations of non-volatile memory (NVM) technology. As part of the collaboration, AMD and Fujitsu will also take an equity stake in Saifun.

Singapore, May 24, 2002 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL) today announced the introduction of its new 8-bit microcontroller, the MB89F538L, which includes 48 Kbytes of flash memory and comes in a compact 0.8 mm-high BCC-64 package with a 9 x 9 mm footprint. Developed jointly with Kyushu Fujitsu Electronics Ltd., the new product is ideal for use as a sub-controller in digital appliances, such as digital cameras and DVD recorders. It is the newest addition to the F 2MC-8L family of 8-bit microcontrollers, all of which feature a wide choice of on-chip functions and peripheral blocks.

Singapore, May 16, 2002 – Fujitsu Microelectronics Asia Pte Ltd (FMAL) today announced that Fujitsu Japan has jointly developed with Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe a new group of offerings in its FR Series of microcontrollers featuring the company's 32-bit RISC core and built-in Controller Area Network (CAN) interface for optimizing high-speed real-time control in automotive metering systems. The MB91360G Series, which will be commercially available beginning today, includes six models suited to varied requirements for packaging and functionality.
