Setting the Bar for IT Infrastructure Services Excellence in the Philippines

Fujitsu Philippines Achieves ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005 and ISO 9001:2000 Certification

(L-R) FPI Quality Assurance Specialist Betti Jane Runtuwene, FPI Assistant Vice President Larry Galang, SGS Division Manager Roger Villanueva, FPI President Peter Tan, SGS Certification Sales Executive Jera Jamilla, FPI Project Manager Nerissa de los Reyes, and FPI Quality Manager Jun Santos.

Manila, March 24, 2008 — Fujitsu Philippines, Inc. (FPI), a leading IT systems integrator and IT services provider, is the first Philippine company to have its Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) System certified against the ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005 International Standard. At the same time, FPI also achieved the certification of its Quality Management System (QMS) against the ISO 9001:2000 International Standard. The certifications were approved following a rigorous audit conducted by SGS auditors from Taiwan and the Philippines.

“These certifications prove that FPI is ‘walking the talk’ of IT service management and quality management. We have been able to deliver consistently high levels of service to our entire customer base because of the people and processes we have in place,” said Peter G. Tan, FPI president and CEO. “Our long-term strategy of investing in our staff and in our quality and service management systems is paying off in terms of increased customer satisfaction levels and our ability to operate within complex customer environments.”

ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005 is the international standard for Information Technology Service Management released by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). ISO 9001:2000 is the international standard for quality management systems released by the ISO. ISO/IEC 20000 promotes the adoption of an integrated process approach to effectively deliver managed services in meeting the business and customer requirements. ISO 9001 promotes the adoption of a process approach in the development, implementation and improvement of a quality management system. Both standards emphasize the achievement of customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirements, and the continuous improvement of design, production, resource management and other business processes.
