Manoa, August 1, 2004 — Study for your MBA or graduate diploma in Hawaii on a full-tuition scholarship from Fujitsu Fujitsu Limited, leading provider of customer-focused IT and communications solutions for the global marketplace that is headquartered in Tokyo, is now accepting applicants from the Philippines for School Year 2005 to 2006 for its scholarship grant that provides post-graduate education and cross-cultural management training to qualified participants.

The Fujitsu Asia Pacific Scholarship (Fujitsu Scholarship) Program, sponsored by Fujitsu, provides financial assistance for full tuition, medical insurance, airfare, and monthly stipend for living expenses to participants from the Asia-Pacific region. Fujitsu established the Asia-Pacific scholarship to commemorate its 50th anniversary in 1985.

The management scholarship program is available for academic programs at JAIMS-the Japan-America Institute of Management Science. JAIMS, located in Honolulu, Hawaii, is a nonprofit postgraduate institute established by Fujitsu in 1972. Participants study the American, Japanese and Chinese cultures and their different approaches to management. Many Fujitsu Scholarship recipients/graduates are now working for corporate and social service organizations in their home countries, as well as in other nations.

The Program is available for the following three academic programs:

The Japan-focused MBA (JEMBA) is a 15-month, Master of Business Administration degree program is accredited by the Association of Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and offered by JAIMS and the College of Business Administration, University of Hawaii at Manoa. The AACSB accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide. The JEMBA program consists of core MBA courses, advanced Japan-focused courses, intensive business Japanese language study, and a three-month business internship in Japan.

The China-focused MBA (CHEMBA) is a 15-month, AACSB-accredited Master of Business Administration degree program also offered by JAIMS and the College of Business Administration, University of Hawaii at Manoa. It consists of core MBA courses, advanced China-focused courses, intensive business Mandarin language study, and a three-month business internship in China. The Intercultural Management Program (ICMP) is a four-month graduate diploma program at JAIMS that trains non-English speakers about American business management. Global business and intercultural issues are also explored. ICMP consists of coursework in Honolulu and one-week field study in Japan. All courses are in English.

The FAPSP program is one of the significant social programs of Fujitsu Limited. The Philippines, through Fujitsu Philippines, Inc., has the highest number of Fujitsu scholars in school year 2003-2004 than any other country in the Asia-Pacific region. This includes Australia, Cambodia, China, Hawaii, Hongkong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Fujitsu has sponsored 30 Filipino scholars since 1985, also the highest number of scholars among the 18 participating countries in the region.
