Give this Notebook the Finger – Fujitsu LifeBook P7010 Ultra Portable NotebookThe LifeBook P7010 is Fujitsu’s latest of their P series notebooks. The “P” model prefix denotes Fujitsu notebooks that are small and light, built for portability in mind. This doesn’t mean that the P7010 is crippled to favour size and weight, in fact, it as all the bells and whistles you see in much larger notebooks, and a feature you hardly see anywhere else – biometric security.

Fujitsu LifeBook B5010 (Pentium M 1GHz, 256MB RAM)Touted by Fujitsu as a notebook that offers the best of both worlds--easy portability and strong computing power--the LifeBook B5010 certainly looks very capable on paper. It's hard not to be impressed by its minimalist footprint which should relieve users from an aching shoulder. However, certain features like infrared which has come to be a default on Centrino machines are unforgivably missing from this setup.

This notice is to announce the addition of certain Sony battery packs subject to the voluntary replacement program that Fujitsu Limited and various Fujitsu Group companies and affiliates have been offering for specified Fujitsu notebook PC models since last October.
On October 17, 2006, we updated an earlier notice to Fujitsu customers regarding the Sony battery pack replacement program, providing information on how to verify which Fujitsu notebook PC models were eligible for the voluntary replacement program. In the meantime, on October 24, 2006, we received a report from a customer in Japan that a Fujitsu notebook PC with a battery pack subject to the replacement program had an incident in which the battery pack overheated and sparked. After investigating this incident together with Sony, it has been concluded that the incident resulted from the Sony-made battery pack, and we are now pursuing further detailed investigations.
On September 28, Sony Corporation announced a voluntary replacement program for certain of its battery packs. As of this time, we are not aware of any instances of battery pack problems involving Fujitsu notebook PCs similar to those that have been announced by Dell and Apple Computer.

In response to Sony's announcement, on September 30 Fujitsu announced our decision to cooperate with Sony by offering voluntary replacement of the Sony-made battery packs in specified Fujitsu notebook PC models.
