Causes of data loss

Data loss can result from many causes. These can include virus attacks, system malfunction, or human error in the handling or installation of the drive. Fujitsu highly recommends that users take standard measures to protect their data, the most important of which are frequent and regular backups, and diagnostic checks of your drives. Fujitsu Australia does not warrant any form of data loss.

Data recovery service

Fujitsu does not itself perform data recovery services, nor does it recommend or authorise any specific data recovery company or its services.

Warranty status

To retain the warranty status of your drive, you should ensure that the recognised data recovery company you pick provides you with written notice, on their company letterhead, that they have performed data recovery services on that drive. Fujitsu Australia reserves the last right of refusal regarding the warranty status of the drive.

Fujitsu Australia will not be liable in any way for the loss of data contained on a Fujitsu hard disk or other recordable media. Customers are urged to back up their data before returning a Fujitsu hard disk drive or other recordable media product for repair by Fujitsu, whether or not the repair is covered by warranty. In the event any liability is not fully excludable under applicable law, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
