Data Centre Services
The challenge
Information is critical to any organisation – people need and expect access to it at all times. However, if data is to be continuously accessible from any location, whilst being secure from physical or online attack, there are significant challenges to overcome.
Business leaders and CIOs are required to provide increasingly efficient systems while keeping costs down. As organisations grow, organically or through acquisition, IT nerve centres proliferate and become increasingly difficult to manage. And the sheer volume of data, much of which now has to be retained in order to meet the requirements of good corporate governance, further increases the pressure on already-stretched IT departments.
Such issues can be a serious distraction from IT’s key role as a business enabler. So the question inevitably arises: why manage your own data centre when a specialist service provider can offer significant operational and financial advantages?
The solution
Organisations are finding that working with an IT service provider is a sensible option. In doing so, they separate high-value management functions from routine IT tasks. The economies of scale provided by a specialist third party reduce the cost of corporate systems, enabling organisations to extend the services they offer whilst benefiting from improved and consistent IT service levels.
Fujitsu’s data centre services offer world-class facilities and carrier-independent high-bandwidth access within secure and resilient environments. We offer a variety of managed solutions for a diverse range of customers – from start-up companies looking for low-cost collocation or Web-hosting through to large enterprises seeking to leverage Fujitsu’s significant data centre assets.
Security, security, security
For obvious reasons, we have established our data centres in secure, inconspicuous locations. But don’t be deceived by appearances. Beyond the anonymous exteriors lies the very latest technology, ensuring that your data remains protected at all times.
Fujitsu strives to ensure its data centre environments are the finest in the region. Facilities have been built or upgraded to maximise availability, provide full standby power and enable proactive monitoring from multiple locations.
Security is paramount. Guards are on duty every minute of the year and there is complete internal and external CCTV coverage 24x7. Physical access is controlled by proximity card reader, with established procedures to prevent unauthorised entry.
Our fully-integrated Building Management Systems constantly monitor numerous points within the environment – smoke, fire and water detection along with the performance of electrical, air-conditioning and fire suppression systems.
Absolute power
Conventional electricity supplies are reliable, but not guaranteed, as evidenced by grid failures in the USA, New Zealand, Italy and the UK. To protect our customers from such failures, Fujitsu has invested in diverse alternative supplies which have immediate uninterrupted power supply (UPS) battery coverage whilst the generators are powered up. There is sufficient fuel to provide continuous emergency power.
Experience you can count on
Fujitsu has been designing, building, managing and hosting systems for over 30 years. We have six data centres across Australia and 47 worldwide, totalling some 85,000 square metres of data hall space. Our centres are strategically located to support most Australian state capitals, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
Clients must be confident that the data centres hosting their mission-critical systems are totally secure. Fujitsu has taken the initiative and obtained AS/NZS7799 Information Security Management Systems certification for its primary Sydney data centre. These standards will be applied progressively to all our facilities.
Our services
Fujitsu’s data centre services are a part of an integrated portfolio of Infrastructure Outsourcing services that can be delivered in a single- or multi-sourcing arrangement. Services can be selected individually or combined to deliver maximum value via an end-to-end solution. Our offering includes:
Infrastructure consulting and integration services – Fujitsu can plan and manage the design, build, deployment and relocation of your infrastructure into a Fujitsu data centre.
Dedicated hosting and collocation services – Fujitsu provides flexible hosting and collocation services within a secure and environmentally-controlled environment. Fujitsu offers the choice of racking your equipment in a secure shared cage, or in your own ‘virtual’ data centre in a dedicated cage or lockable cabinet. For enhanced security, proximity or biometric readers can be fitted to cage doors.
Operations support – Fujitsu provides data centre operations support including proactive monitoring of your environment, backup and recovery, media management and offsite media storage.
Remote hands services – Fujitsu provides ‘remote hands services’ from basic reboots to server builds and network and server configuration.
