Fujitsu New Zealand Limited Privacy Policy

Fujitsu New Zealand respects your right to privacy and is committed to protecting any personal information you provide to us. Fujitsu New Zealand is bound by the Privacy Act 1993 ("the Act") and the Information Privacy Principles ("IPP's") that are set out within that Act. The IPPs set out the minimum standard of privacy protection in relation to the collection, holding, use, disclosure, management, access, correction and disposal of your personal information.

In general you can visit our site without providing any information and remain anonymous. However there are times when we may ask you to provide personal information. What sort of personal information does Fujitsu hold?

Generally, the type of personal information Fujitsu holds consists of your name, address, contact details, and credit card information.

How does Fujitsu collect personal information?

Fujitsu collects personal information mainly by way of forms, over the telephone, and by facsimile and email. The collection of the personal information will be directly via the individual concerned, except to the extent that collection by other means is deemed acceptable by the Act.

Fujitsu will not collect information via unlawful means or by means that are unfair or intrude to an unreasonable extent on the personal affairs of the individual concerned.

What does Fujitsu mainly use personal information for?

We will mainly use your credit card information for payment processing. We will use your other personal information primarily for the purpose of processing your order or communicating with you about your order. From time to time we may also use this information to send you details about new products that become available on our site, or other information about Fujitsu and its products that may be of interest to you. You can ask us at any time to stop sending such information and we will respect your wishes.

Sharing personal information

Fujitsu may disclose your personal information to a wholly owned subsidiary company or agent of Fujitsu, which is acting on behalf of Fujitsu in connection with the processing of your order. However,  Fujitsu will ensure that any subsidiary company or agent of Fujitsu to which it discloses your personal information, is aware of and agrees to be bound by this Privacy Policy. Fujitsu will not make available your personal information, or any information regarding the products you buy, to any other party.

Apart from the provision above, Fujitsu will not disclose your personal information unless permitted under the Act or any other relevant law.

How does Fujitsu store and secure personal information?

Fujitsu complies with the Privacy Act and ensures that all personal information is protected by a security system, as is reasonable under the circumstances, against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure or misuse. Exceptions of the Act apply.

Sensitive data such as credit card details is encrypted when being collected or transferred online.

How can I gain access to my personal information?

You can request access to your personal information at any time by contacting Fujitsu at the contact details on this web page. By requesting access Fujitsu will confirm whether or not Fujitsu holds information about you, and if so arrange for you to inspect the documents or obtain either a copy, summary, written transcript or oral summary of the information where required.  Under the Act Fujitsu may withhold personal information within the exceptions that are provided.

Fujitsu will also use best endeavours to keep all personal information held about you up to date. However you can also request to correct the personal information that Fujitsu holds. When such a request is made Fujitsu will use best endeavours to see that the corrections are made promptly.
