10,000 customers see Fujitsu innovation at Forum 2006 in Tokyo
Fujitsu Forum is an annual two-day event held at the Tokyo International Forum. It is a showcase for the latest technologies and capabilities from Fujitsu globally and a forum for Fujitsu’s customers to understand more clearly how Fujitsu, in its role as a key business partner to its customers, can help foster innovation on the front lines of their business. Over 10,000 Fujitsu customers attended the Forum event.
In addition to Fujitsu Forum, Fujitsu also hosted a Global Guest Program for more than 400 international customers from Europe, the US and Asia. Included in the Global Guest Program were executive briefings with Fujitsu’s senior management including an update on Fujitsu’s corporate strategy and future direction from the Chairman of Fujitsu Limited, Mr Akikusa. Guests also heard an update from the President of Fujitsu’s Global Business Group, Mr Urano, on Fujitsu’s commitment to, and the growing importance of, Fujitsu’s global operations. Finally, global guests were given some insight in to breakthrough technologies and Fujitsu’s approach to the environment, from Dr. Murano, President, Fujitsu Laboratories and Mr Yamaguchi, President, Corporate Environmental Affairs Unit, respectively.
Also included in the Innovation Tour was a tour of Fujitsu Laboratories, where customers viewed technology innovation in areas such as server virtualisation, security and robotics. Australian customers also attended a private dinner with Dr Murano, who shared his views on technology trends and fostering innovation.

Delivering the Forum keynote Mr Kurokawa, President of Fujitsu Limited, spoke of the need for processes and the constant review of processes, if the IT industry is ever going to be trusted as a reliable partner. The exhibition area at Forum was centred on three themes: Innovation in Management; Innovation in Work; and Innovation in Life. Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand guests were impressed by the breadth and depth of Fujitsu solutions on display including multiple applications of RFID – from Mobile CRM to washable and metal-compatible UHF tags – to colour electronic paper and Enon, Fujitsu’s Service Robot.
Customers also visited the recently opened Japanese Foundation of Cancer Research which utilises Fujitsu solutions for the healthcare sector and the Mitsukoshi Department Store, where Fujitsu’s RFID technology has recently been deployed rounded out our guests trip to Tokyo.
With innovation becoming increasingly important for our customers, Fujitsu is committed to continually injecting innovation in to our customer relationships. To assist with this, we will be running a number of innovation themed events in the second half of this year.
Plans are already underway for Fujitsu’s next Forum event to be held in Tokyo on May 15th -18th, 2007.
