Fujitsu Appointed to Australian Government Data Centre Facilities Supplies Panel

Fujitsu has been appointed to the Australian Government’s Data Centre Facilities Supplies Panel. The Panel offers public sector agencies access to suppliers that can provide proven, scalable and flexible solutions to meet a wide range of data centre hosting requirements.

In establishing this Panel, the Department of Finance recognised that cloud services are constantly evolving. It wished to better match the expanding data centre needs of public sector agencies with industry offerings. The Panel also streamlines departmental procurement and access to services.

Fujitsu is one of 17 vendors appointed to the Panel and continues its trusted service provision, having been a member of earlier Panels. It met strict criteria including: having facilities located in Australia; at least one Megavolt Ampere (MVA) capacity; and a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.9 or better.

The Noble Park Data Centre in Melbourne is unique within this Panel. It has provided the enviable track record of uninterrupted service - 100 percent continuous operation since 2006.

The facility was the first in Australia to be certified using the NABERS rating scale that measures energy efficiency, water usage, waste management and indoor air quality within the built environment. Noble Park was assessed as a 4-Star facility, which exceeded the minimum requirements of the Panel.
